秋达喇嘛公开道歉

在去年年底,传出秋达(Lama Choedak Rinpoche)与数名女成员发生性关系,坎贝拉佛学会的向会员们道歉。

在他离开该国前往尼泊尔闭关前(译按:原文为for a retreat,这个字用在这很有意思retreat可以是撤退逃跑、宗教意义为冥想、僻静)该学会喇嘛秋达仁波切在12月底召开特别会议,「如果自己的行为造成任何溷乱,他为此道歉。」

为数众多的妇女向坎贝拉日报投诉,这个前僧侣宣称离开妻子以后,就与好几个妇女团体的成员们发生性关系。

妇女们说道,她们十分震惊地发现这个「灵性导师」竟深陷数件性丑闻,因为喇嘛秋达在课程中一向被视为「令人敬重的导师和家人」。

妇女们亦提供文件给日报,显示她们受到佛教高层人士严厉的警告,内容提及将丑闻于媒体揭露或告知其他新进的团体成员,将受到灵性的伤害而且会阻碍其他在地人获得开悟

日前在阿德莱德举行灵修课程的喇嘛秋达,对坎贝拉日报请求专访不予回应,但一名代表在声明中表示「他对受牵连的妇女和其他团体成员表达明确的歉意」。但妇女们则控诉喇嘛秋达警告她们别把这丑事让其他成员得知,表示曝光此事可能对「家人与孩童造成致命的疾病」。

在十二月的道歉会议上,喇嘛秋达告诉他的追随者:「我很关心你们,为了佛法和新成员着想,我们要团结维持组织运作。由于事涉个人隐私,也必须保护我儿子和其他相关人士,我请大家尊重我的隐私。我知道很多因此破碎的家庭,他们都需要支持与体谅。」

喇嘛秋达告诉成员,与其对此感到愤怒,他们更应利用此经验来提昇自己。

他说:「我们每个人都会犯错,我们也能原谅;宽恕可以引领我们找到心灵稳健的避难所。」

-- THE HEAD of Canberras Tibetan Buddhist community has apologised to members of the society after allegations he had sexual relationships with several women from the group emerged late last year.

The Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberras leader Lama Choedak Rinpoche called a special meeting of the society in December to apologise if changes that his personal life has gone through have caused any confusion before leaving the country for a retreat in Nepal.

A number of women associated with the society contacted the Sunday Canberra Times, alleging the former monk had sexual relationships with several female group members after saying he had separated from his wife.

The women said they were shocked to discover their spiritual leader was engaged in multiple affairs within the group because Lama Choedak was considered a respected teacher and family man in the ACT branch.

The women were also able to provide documents to the Sunday Canberra Times that showed complaints about Lama Choedaks conduct were met with stern warnings from senior foreign figures in the Tibetan Buddhist movement, who said talking to the media or telling new group members what had happened could be spiritually damaging and prevent other Canberrans from achieving enlightenment through buddhism.

Lama Choedak, who is currently teaching at a retreat in Adelaide, did not respond to requests for an interview from the Sunday Canberra Times, but a representative said in a statement he made an unequivocal apology to the women involved, as well as group members. The women claimed Lama Choedak warned them not to reveal his indiscretions a sentiment echoed in the organisations statement, which said exposure could harm families and children as well as someone who is presently in the midst of dealing with a life-threatening illness.

Apologising at the December meeting, Lama Choedak told his followers, I am making this statement today as I care about all of you, and as we need to maintain our work together for the sake of dharma and new members.

Due to the personal nature of this matter and the need to protect the feelings of my children and other people concerned, I ask you all to respect our privacy. I know how many broken families there are, and they all need moral support and understanding.

Lama Choedak told the group that rather than being angry, they should use the experience to improve themselves.

Every single one of us makes mistakes and it is up to each of us to forgive, he said. Used wisely, such personal difficulties can lead us to a stronger and more stable refuge which we find within our own hearts and and minds.

「若人三种恶不善业。所谓杀生偷盗邪行。乐行多作。彼决定受合大地狱。受苦恼处。众生何业。生初大量受苦恼处。彼见有人。
不应行婬。不正观察。乐邪欲行。生彼大量受苦恼处地狱之中。受大苦恼

所谓炎热锋利铁矛。刺令穿彻。以彼铁矛。从下刺之。背上而出。又复刺之。腹上而出。又复刺之。腰中而出。又复刺之。肩上而出。又复刺之。从脇而出。又复刺之。从咽而出。又复刺之。从口而出。复破髑髅。而从其出。又复刺之。从耳而出。彼地狱人。如是被矛。一切身分皆悉穿破。受大苦恼。若烧若煮。一切身分。彼受如是诸苦恼已。

又复更与极重苦恼。所谓复以热炎铁钳。挟拔其卵。若铁鹫鸟。挽拔其卵而食之者。如是乃至所作集业未坏未烂业气未尽。于一切时与苦不止。」

《佛说分别善恶所起经》卷1:

「佛言:人于世间婬妷犯他人妇女从是得五恶;何等五?
一者、家室不和、夫妇数鬪、数亡钱财。
二者、畏县官常与捶杖从事,王法所疾,身当备辜,多死少生。
三者、自欺身,常恐畏人。
四者、入太山地狱中;太山地狱中,铁柱正赤,身常抱之,坐犯他人妇女故得是殃,如是数千万岁形乃竟。
五者、从狱中来出,生为鷄凫鸟鸭,人魂魄无形所着为名,今见有鷄凫婬妷不避,亦无节度,亦有犬马之贞狗贞,于夫畜生之属皆有信足,而鷄凫婬妷,独无止足,皆从故世宿命婬妷犯他人妇女,受是鷄凫身,当为人所噉食
